Butchart Gardens
A transformed limestone quarry, Butchart Gardens hosts nearly a million guests annually, who come to enjoy the luxurious flora and fauna displays and unique trees. Theme gardens such as the Sunken Garden or the charming Rose Garden are spread over a spacious 20-hectare estate. Butchart Gardens is considered one of the top attractions in British Columbia and has been enchanting guests since 1909.
Victoria Butterfly Gardens
Very close to Butchart Gardens, guests will discover Victoria Butterfly Gardens. Here, more than 75 exotic species of butterflies fly freely in an indoor tropical rainforest. In addition to the more than 4,000 butterflies flitting about, spectacular flowering plants and foliage, fascinating exotic birds and water features cover the attraction. Many guests enjoy visits to both the Victoria Butterfly Gardens and Butchart Gardens within the same day.
BC Ferry Terminals
SWARTZ BAY BC Ferry Terminal – Allow 18 minutes drive time from the marina to the BC Ferries terminal, located in nearby Swartz Bay. This is the transportation-by-water hub for the region with ferries to Vancouver, Salt Spring Island and the Southern Gulf Islands which include Mayne, Galiano, Penders and Saturna Islands.
Another option for guests includes taking the Brentwood Bay ferry to Mill Bay. Allow a 5-minute walk from the Marina to Brentwood Bay terminal with a 25-minute crossing time to Mill Bay.
Brentwood Inn and Spa
An insider’s favourite located near the marina is Brentwood Bay Lodge and Spa. The Lodge features fine dining, a pub and a first class spa.
The Lodge is adjacent to Verdier Park where visitors to the park will enjoy lovely views of Saanich Inlet.
Verdier Park offers great views, a canoe/kayak launch, public washrooms, and gently sloping lawn, Douglas fir and arbutus trees provide shade and the park is nicely appointed with paved pathways, picnic tables and park benches. The park is a great spot to enjoy the beach and ample afternoon sun.
Guests also enjoy access to the nearby walking bridge where you can rent kayaks or go scuba diving or snorkelling with rockfish divers. Please note, access to this beach is dependent on tides.
